I went to southern Colorado for the long weekend and had a blast up there! The point of the trip was to location scout for a movie Jay wrote so we drove around to a lot of small towns and took lots of pictures. Our base camp was a cabin (a pretty sweet house really) in South Fork.

The "cabin" we stayed in. |
Other towns we visited were Alamosa, Monte Vista, Del Norte, Saguache, and Creed. There were seven of us on the trip and then two more came up for the last night making nine people in one cabin with one shower. It all worked out well though and no one killed each other. Though we did have one instance on a few people refusing to ride in the car with one of the others, haha.
We attended a local catfish fry in South Fork that the town Fire Department had put on. It was actually kind of a disappointment food-wise, but it was fun to hang out with the town folk. We saw some cool old schools and houses, some old train boxcars, a few old drive-ins, and a really cool mining town (Creed) where there were old mine shafts up in the mountains. Other than that, we drank, ate and hung out in the hot tub at our cabin. It was really great to get out of town for a few days with no set agenda and just relax. It was rough coming back to work Tuesday but this week is thankfully flying by and I am looking forward to the first weekend I haven't had any set plans in a long time. All I need to squeeze in is some pesky yard work.
